To begin, turn the phone on
.
We can do this by pressing the 'Power' button, located on the top, right-hand side of the phone.

Once the phone has been activated, we will see the 'Lock' screen
.
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold. An icon featuring two lock symbols will then appear on the screen. Swipe upwards, and the phone will be unlocked.

Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the 'Home' screen
.
At the bottom of the screen, there will be an arrangement of icons. It is within these icons that we will find the messages icon.

Press down on the 'Messages' icon, this will open the 'Messages' application
.
This icon features a white textbox with three, green, horizontal lines in the center.

In this video, we want to show you how to send a SMS message

To do this we need to press the '+' sign icon, located at the top of the screen. This icon is written in white, and is within the blue bar at the top of the screen. This will open a new message for us to edit.

We now need to find a contact to send a message to
.
Press down on the icon located in the top, right-hand section of the screen. This icon features a silhouette of a person's torso, in gray. Pressing down on it will open our contact list, marked with the word 'People' at the top.

Choose the person you want to send an SMS to
.
Press down on the small, white box beside their name to check it. We will know it has been checked if the icon changes from white to blue, with a white checkmark inside of the box. If we would like to send this message to multiple people, we can check off more than one box.

Press down on the word 'Done' to finish selecting a contact
.
This button will appear in the bottom, right hand corner of the screen. It features the word 'Done' in black, inside of a grey rectangle. This icon will also tell us how many people we have selected. Tapping it will also bring us back to the previous screen, where we can compose our SMS.

From here, we can type in the words we want to send
.
There will be a white box above the keyboard with the words 'Add text' written inside. This is where our words will be presented to us.

We may also tap on the 'Happy face', 'World', or 'Gear' icon, located at the bottom left on the keyboard, to add additional items to our message

The 'Happy face' icon will open a list of emoticons or Emoji, these can be added to our message. The 'World' icon will allow us to share our location with the receiver of the message. Lastly, the 'Gear' icon will allow us to change the language.

Once we have finished these steps, we can send the message

To do this tap the icon inside the white text box, on the right hand side. It features a blue textbox, with the word 'Slot 1' next to it; This is because the SIM Card in this phone is in Slot 1.
