   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen, hold down until we see the padlock icon, and swipe up.

   What we want to do in this video is show you how to use voice commands to send a message to a contact. But before we do that it is important for us to know that if we want to use these voice commands from any screen or any situation, we are going to need to set this up in the settings menu. This is because the default setting on the HTC One M8 is that we can only use these voice commands in the voice search application. That is obviously more difficult. We actually have to go to the application and then enter it. But it's a lot easier if we can set up this "OK Google" voice search from any screen. That means we can use it at any time and it makes it a lot more flexible, and a lot easier, and quicker, and more efficient way of using this function.    What I'm going to do now then is say the magic words

   It's going to open up the voice search function. Then I'm going to ask it if it can send a message to a contact. It's then going to ask what number I want, if there are multiple phone numbers for this one contact. Then it's going to ask me to say the message and it's going to type what I say. Then it's going to ask me if I want to send it. Okay, I'm going to go through the process now and we can see exactly how we can send messages to a contact using these voice commands.
