Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to send a file via Bluetooth from a device to an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up
.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder. We first need to make sure that a device has been connected to the phone via Bluetooth. To check on that, we can swipe the notification panel down.
3
Press your finger at the top of the screen and swipe downwards
.
This will open the notification panel.
4
We want to tap the white cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
This is our settings icon and it will open up the settings menu. It will say the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen when it is opened.
5
We want to tap on "Bluetooth" in the "WIRELESS & NETWORKS" section
.
6
Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on
.
We will see the word "ON" in the switch at the top, with a green section. Then, make sure the phone is paired with a device. We can tap on "Scan for devices" if we need to scan. Here we can see a device under "PAIRED DEVICES". We are currently connected to "ORB". Find and send the file to send from the device to the phone. We're going to send a photo.
7
We can see at the bottom, "Incoming file from another device
.
Confirm that you want to receive this file." It doesn't stay there for very long. We need to swipe the notification panel down.
8
Now we have this option, "Bluetooth share
:
incoming file. Do you want to receive this file?". Tap on that.
9
Here we can see more details such as who sent it and what it is
.
"ORB" wants to send you kandrisky 6.jpg (79.50KB). Accept the file?" Tap on "ACCEPT" to accept it.
10
Now it says, "Bluetooth share
:
Received" with the file location. These alerts don't last very long.
11
Swipe the notification panel down again
.
Here it says, "Bluetooth share: Receive files. 1 successful, 0 unsuccessful". Tap on that to see more information.
12
Here we can see our "Inbound transfers"
.
Under the "COMPLETE" section, we can see the file with the title, the device that sent it, the size, and the status. Tap on that to open it.
13
Depending on the file, it will ask us what application to open it with
.
Since this is a photo, it's recommending "Gallery". If it was a document, it would ask us to open it with a different application. We'll tap on "JUST ONCE" for Gallery.
14
We can now see the image that was successfully sent via Bluetooth
.
15
This concludes the tutorial on how to send a file via Bluetooth from a device to an HTC One M8
.
