Edited by Thor, Rushell, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to customize what languages are learned in the Kid Mode application on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards
.
4
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen, and at the bottom of the screen, we will see several icons
.
We now need to find the Settings menu, and to do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down.
5
To open the Notification panel, start right at the top of the screen, and swipe downwards
.
6
Now, we can see that the Notification panel has appeared
.
7
We are looking for the icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
It is a white cog icon. This is our Settings icon.
8
Press down on this icon, and it will open up the "Settings" menu
.
It says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
9
Now, let's scroll down to the "PERSONAL" section, indicated by the word "PERSONAL" in the gray bar
.
10
In this section, we are looking for the "Security" option
.
Next to the word "Security" there is an icon of a padlock.
11
Press down on this option, and it will open up the "Security" menu
.
12
We want the second option from the top
.
It says, "Kid Mode - Give a child limited access to your phone". Press down on this option.
13
Now, we want the first option that says, "Parent Dashboard - Add profiles and access all features." Press down on this option, and it will allow us to enter the "Parent Dashboard"
.
14
Let's scroll down until we get to the "Languages" option
.
Next to this word, there is an icon of a child's play block with different foreign letters on it.
15
Press down on "Languages" to enter that section
.
At the top of the screen it says, "Ash's Languages". Ash is the name of our beautiful child. It also says, "Choose the languages you would like Ash to practice inside Kid Mode. We can then select which languages will be used in Kid Mode and which languages we want our child to study. If we select different languages, then there will be things like videos, games, and interactive elements that will allow our child to learn something about these languages and to start practicing these languages.
16
Right now we have "English" selected, as indicated by the blue check inside the box across from "English"
.
If we scroll down, we'll see that there aren't a huge number of languages, but there are a few. If we want to add multiple languages that's not a problem.
17
We can select another language by pressing down on the box across from the desired language
.
We will choose Japanese. A blue check will appear inside the box, which means that language is selected.
18
Now both languages we have selected will feature in Kid Mode
.
19
We can select even more languages if desired just by pressing down on the box until the blue check has appeared
.
We'll select Spanish, for example.
20
If we want to remove any languages from Kid Mode because perhaps we are overloading the child's mind and it is proving too complex for them, just press down on the box until the check mark disappears
.
21
Once we're satisfied with all our language choices, we'll press down on the purple "Save" button at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen
.
22
This will save our Language choices, and it will display the message, "Languages saved" at the bottom of the screen
.
23
This concludes our tutorial on how to customize what languages are learned in the Kid Mode application on an HTC One M8
.
