Search for apps with Spotlight in iOS 7

iOS7 has a special feature called "Spotlight search". It is a quick way to search apps that are already installed in your iPhone. You can also use "Spotlight search" in searching default apps like calendar, camera, video, etc. Just follow the very simple steps on how to use spotlight search on iOS 7

    To use the "Spotlight search" feature, just swipe down your finger from the center of the phone

    To search for an app, just type in the name of the apps you want to search

  • Note: Only downloaded or installed apps and default apps can be searched in the "Spotlight search" feature. If you want to search new apps, you need to use the Apps Store.

Customizing spotlight search

You can customize your Spotlight search feature. You can choose what apps to include and not to include in your searching.

    Touch "Settings" from your home screen

    Now you can choose which apps to include in your spotlight search
    .
    Just check or uncheck the items on the list. Once you are done, click the left arrow located on the upper left corner of your screen to go back to the settings and to exit.

Tips and Warning

  • Try not to swipe your finger from the very top downward. If you did that, it will give you the status bar or notifications and not the Spotlight search.
