   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

   Swipe the lock screen up to go to the home screen

   Find the Instagram tile

   .

   The Instagram tile is a white camera on a navy blue background. If the Instagram tile is not pinned to the home screen, swipe left to find it in the apps menu. Once the Instagram tile is located, press down on it to open the application.

   Once the application is loaded, press the search icon on the bottom of the screen

   It is a blue magnifying glass inside of a blue circle. This will give you the option to search for someone.

   There are options to search for "people" or "hashtags"

   To search for people, make sure the word "people" is highlighted in the blue text.

   To search for someone on Instagram, put a name in and press the enter button which is a black arrow in a white square

   For this example, I will search for "Sage Francis".

   The person at the top is who I searched for, so I will select that one

   You can type in any name you want, and when you find them press down on their name.

   To follow someone, press "Follow" at the top
