   To begin, we should unlock our phone by pressing the Home button at the bottom in the middle of the phone

   Alternatively, you can press the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone

   Now, slide the lock screen over and enter a pass-code if you have one

   If you have the option enabled, you can press your finger onto the Home button and use the fingerprint scanner

   In my case, I have my applications arranged in folders, so Google Maps is in my Travel folder along with other travel related applications.

   The Google Maps application icon is quite colorful

   .

   It has green, yellow, red and blue stripes and patches. It looks a bit like a miniature map with a location pointed out with a red pointer. Each of these colors represents a particular type of location on the map, which you will see in more detail when we open the application. The icon also has the recognizable Google G. Tap the icon once to open Google Maps.

   It will either take you to the page you were previously on, or it will take you to a map of your current location
