Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to restore the background and bubble color to their default settings in the 'Messages' section of an HTC One M8.

Steps

To begin, turn the phone On by pressing the 'Power' button located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, you'll see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, press down on the screen until the 'Unlock' icon appears
.
Hold down and swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen and some icons at the bottom of the screen.

In this section, we need to find the 'Messages' icon

It is located second from the left. It is a white chat box, and in the middle, there are three green horizontal lines. Press down on this icon, and it will open up our messages.

Let's look at an example of a customized message

We have customized the background image and the color scheme in pink, as well. We have customized this, and this is why it looks so garish.

If we want to actually restore the default background and bubble color settings, we can do that by pressing the 'Back' icon at the bottom of the phone on the left

It will take us to 'All messages'.

Press the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

There are three small, white squares in a vertical line. Press down on the icon, and the menu will appear.

Press 'Settings', which is the second option from the bottom, written in white text

It will take us to the 'Settings' menu.

Press 'General', which is located at the bottom in black text

Scroll all the way to the bottom until you get to the 'Personalize' section
.
It says the word 'Personalize' in bold, black text, and these are our 'Personalize' options. We want the final option, 'Restore defaults'. It says "Restore background and bubble color to default settings". Press down on this option, and it's going to take a couple of seconds or more to delete the changes we have made and to restore the settings.

We can see the option has disappeared, which means that we have been successful because we can no longer select this

Press the 'Back' arrow at the bottom left-hand corner of the phone to go back

Press it twice to get to the 'All messages' section.

Press down on the message
.
We can see that the background is neutral, and the customization has been deleted. The original background and the default settings have been restored to the messaging section.
