Request Message Read Reports on HTC One M8
Edited by Thor, Melissa Rae, Eng
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to request a 'Read report' for each message sent on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone On by pressing the 'Power' button located on the top of the phone. Once the phone has been activated, you shall see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down until an icon appears at the bottom, and then swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, it will take us to the home screen with a set of icons at the bottom.
We need to find the 'Messages' icon. It is the second icon from the left at the bottom of the screen. It is a white chat box with three green horizontal lines in the middle. Press down on this 'Messages' icon, and it will allow us to enter the 'Messages' section.
We need to find the 'Settings' menu. To do that, press the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You will see that there are three small, white squares in a vertical line. Press down on this icon and it will bring up a menu.
In this menu, choose 'Settings', which is second from the bottom in white text. Press down on it to enter the 'Settings' menu.
Press 'Multimedia messages (MMS)' to bring up the settings.
We want to concentrate on the 'Read reports' option. It says "Request a read report for each message you send". When activated, this option allows the HTC One M8 to send us a report telling us when a message has been read. This can be very useful because it shows that information has been received and the person has read the message. That can be quite important. We need to know if they've read it or not in order to think of another way to contact them if we know that they haven't read the message, for example.
If we want to turn this option On, press down on the box on the right-hand side of the screen next to 'Read reports'. Pressing down on it will put a blue check in it, and a blue check signifies that this option is now activated.
If you don't want to receive a 'Read report' for each message you send, press down on the box so that the check has disappeared, and now this option has been deactivated.
This concludes our tutorial on how to request a 'Read report' for each message sent on an HTC One M8.
