Replace a Hand-Held Shower Head
Edited by Grimm, Inukshuk, Richard Dixon, Maria Quinney
Hi, you're watching VisiHow. Earlier, we showed you how to change a broken shower hose. Now what we're going to do is change a low-pressure shower head or nozzle. We're going to change it for a new shiny beautiful shower head.
Steps
1
The first thing you're going to need to do is get your shoes
.
Rubber bottom shoes! I love my Sketchers. They keep me from falling on my head. I don't want to fall on my head; you don't want me to fall on my head, although it probably would make for a funny video.
2
What we have here is a shower head still in the plastic wrap, let's just pull that out
.
Spend some time popping the bubble-wrap if you want.
3
What we're going to do is take the screw piece off the bottom like the other one before, we are not going to throw it away
.
4
We should actually be able to pull this on and off
.
5
Sounds like we could make some music with this one, hopefully that little rattle is not going to be a problem for us
.
What we're going to do now is pull off the old head.
6
I'm just showing you with both hands, because as I've mentioned before, you can hand-tighten this stuff
.
This is not something where it's a scientific necessity or a nuclear power reactor where you to have it exactly right.
7
This one's actually even plastic - you notice the old one is metal - it's probably cheap metal, but it's still metal - but the new one is plastic, so it's just another reason not to tighten it too hard, or else you are going to break it
.
It is nice and clean though, I wish the rest of the bathroom could stay this clean.
8
There we are, now we have the new head in the bracket
.
I do see a problem that it doesn't turn, but that's OK.
9
Let's give the water a try, and see how the pressure is now
.
10
Not exactly what I would call fantastic, but let's switch it to other settings
.
11
That seems better than it was before
.
We've at least got a wider range of spray. So this is how you change out your older not-so-awesome shower head, for a shiny new shower head with a switch selector.
12
Thanks for watching VisiHow
.
If you'd like to see me try to fall on my head in any other videos, just leave a comment in the section below and let us know what you'd like to see us fix. We'll try to find something broken and fix it for you. Bye!
