Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to rename a favorite radio station in the FM Radio application, on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button
.
This button is located on top of the device.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe upwards
.
4
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the Home screen, at the bottom there will be a row of five icons
.
It is within these icons that we need to focus, in order to open up the Applications folder.
5
Tap on the icon located in the center of this row, this is our Applications folder icon
.
This icon will feature a grid, made of white dots.
6
This will open up our Applications folder
.
In the top left-hand corner of the screen, this folder will be labeled "Apps". We now need to find another folder, located within this folder. This folder will be labeled "Media".
7
We will now locate and tap on a new folder, labeled "Media"
.
This icon will have a black background, with various application icons inside of it.
8
This will open up the Media folder for us
.
This folder will appear as a black box, with our Media application icons inside. The word "Media" will be written in white text, in the top left-hand corner of this box.
9
We are now going to locate and tap on the "FM Radio" icon
.
We can see that this icon features a radio, with the words "FM Radio" written underneath.
10
We will now be taken to our FM Radio application
.
11
It is important for us to note that to use this application, we must have a headset plugged into the device
.
A headset simply refers to a pair of headphones, which will have come with our HTC One M8. They will be white, with the "HTC" logo on the ends.
12
Now we are going to press the Play button, indicated by a gray triangle
.
This button is located in the center, at the bottom of the screen.
13
We can tell that the station has begun playing when a gray square has replaced the Play button
.
Now, we need to go into the menu.
14
To enter the menu, tap the white arrow, located in the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
15
This will take us to a new section, labeled "Favorites" in the top left-hand corner
.
16
If the label "Favorites" is not shown, press down in the top left-hand corner one time
.
17
This will open a menu for us, with two options labeled "Local Stations" and "Favorites"
.
18
Press down on the second option, labeled "Favorites"
.
19
Now we need to tap the icon in the top right-hand corner, featuring three, small, white squares in a vertical line
.
20
We can see that this opens a menu for us, giving us two options labeled "Rename" and "Delete"
.
21
Press down on the second option, labeled "Rename"
.
22
We now need to select a station name to edit, we will tap the first option, labeled "94.3"
.
23
This will open a confirmation box for us, where we can type in the new name for our station
.
This can be useful because if we have lot's of favorites, it will help us to find the one we want very quickly. It will also help us to keep our FM Radio application organized and customized. We can choose to use the actual name of the radio station if we would like, or we can add our own name.
24
For example, we are going to input the word "dance"
.
25
Now we are going to press the second option underneath the textbox, labeled "SAVE"
.
26
The name has now been renamed, so we know that "94.3" is the "dance" station
.
So when we are ready to boogie, which is all the time, we can go straight to this radio station.
27
This then concludes our tutorial, on how to rename a favorite radio station in the FM Radio application on an HTC One M8
.
