Remove Different Frequencies from Audio in Adobe Audition

Edited by Djinu, Crystal, Eng

You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to remove electronic noises from your recording. We're going to record us talking and play an electronic noise from our phone. We're going to talk over the electronic noise, then stop the recording. We're now going to try to clean up this recording with Adobe Audition.

Steps

  1. 1
We have the option of turning on this audio waveform and we also have the spectral version by clicking the red icon at the top
    .
When we use the spectral audio waveform, this actually breaks down the audio into different frequencies. If we play the recording, we can see that the electronic noise is limited to that particular area of the waveform.

We can use either the marquee tool or lasso tool to draw over that part of the waveform
    .
The lasso tool will allow us to draw a more curvy line, but since this information seems to be limited to one area of the waveform, we can use the rectangular marquee tool.

Once we've highlighted that, we're going to press the delete key
    .
Now we can listen to how this sounds. In this example, we took the majority of that electronic noise out.

There are still a couple of other bands where the noise is showing on the spectrum, so if we wanted to get a little more granular on this, we could delete those parts of the waveform as well, then listen to how it sounds
