Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to record and send a video message when using the Skype application on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Once the phone is activated, we'll see the lock screen
.
Swipe the lock screen up, and this will take us to the home screen.
3
On the home screen, we need to find the Skype tile
.
It has a blue tile background, and in the middle there is the Skype logo, which is a white circle with a blue letter "S" inside. If Skype has not been pinned to the home screen, then swipe left and find it in the "Apps" menu.
4
Once the Skype tile has been located, press down on it, and this will allow us to enter the application
.
Once in the Skype application, we need to choose a contact.
5
We can choose a contact from our "recent" section
.
It will say "recent" at the top of the screen in dark blue letters.
6
Alternatively, we can swipe across until we reach the "people" section
.
In this section, we will have the complete list of all our Skype contacts.
7
Choose a contact to send a video message to, and press down on their name
.
8
Once the chat is open, we need to press the plus icon at the bottom left corner of the screen
.
It is a blue circle with a white plus sign, and it's located just to the left of the message text box. Pressing on this will bring up some options.
9
We need to choose the second option from the top
.
It says "video message" in white text, and next to there is an icon of a video camera. We want to create a video message and send it to our friend.
10
Let's press down on the words "video message"
.
11
Now, it's going to bring up the camera with a message that states, "Looking good
!
Hit record when you're ready." It's going to give us time to get ready, check how good we are looking.
12
Now, we want to press the record button in the middle of the screen at the bottom
.
Then we're going to talk into the camera. We're just going to make a very short message because it's not essential to make anything long, just to give an idea of what we're trying to create and how to do it.
13
Now, we have three minutes counting down
.
Three minutes is the total length of the video we can make. Hello! Geronimo! There we go, and that's all we want to do.
14
When we are ready to finish, just press the middle icon again, the pulsating white dot in the red circle
.
This will stop the recording.
15
We can watch the video by pressing on the large play button in the middle of the screen
.
It's a white circle with a triangle inside. If we press on that, it will play the video and give us a chance to watch it to see if we like it.
16
While the video is playing, tap on the blue icon at the bottom left side of the screen to pause or play it
.
17
When satisfied with the video, press the white arrow at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to go back
.
18
To proceed, press the blue circle with an icon that looks like a white paper airplane at the bottom of the screen
.
This will allow us to upload the message.
19
Now, as we can see, the video message is attached and is being sent in the chat
.
It will take some time to send because a video is a large file, and it takes time to upload a file of that size. When it's finished uploading, the message will be sent.
20
This concludes our tutorial on how to record and send a video message when using the Skype application on a Microsoft Lumia 535
.
If you have any questions, or suggestions, or queries about this video or about the application itself, then please leave them in the comment section below, and we shall answer them for you. Thank you for watching VisiHow. Goodbye.
