    To begin, unlock the phone by pressing the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone

    Alternatively, press the big round button at the bottom of the phone called the home button.

    Once the lock screen is up, simply swipe right to unlock the phone
    .
    Enter the passcode or press your finger on the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if you have that option enabled.

    Look for the "MyFitnessPal" app, which, in this case, is in the "Useful" folder
    .
    It is a blue icon with a white silhouette of someone jumping, and in the left-hand corner there is a grey tab with a little dumbbell symbol. Tap it once to open the application.

    It will automatically open to the homepage where we can see our daily calorie count, the option to connect, some status updates and blog posts

    In the bottom grey bar, tap the last option, "More", with 3 dots

    This will open up the menu.

    Find and tap on "Steps" which has a picture of 2 footsteps on the left-hand side

    This will open up the options.

    Here we can choose how to record our steps
    .
    At the moment, there is a blue tick on the right-hand side of "iPhone", so our steps are being tracked by the phone. If we're using something else, for example, the Apple iWatch, tap on "Add a device".

    After tapping "Add a device", we can scroll through and select exactly what we're using
    .
    There are also some specific sports devices as well. When we're done, we can tap the back arrow in the top left corner.

    If we don't want the steps to be tracked, we can tap "Don't track steps" and the blue check mark will be to the right of it indicating that it is selected

    We can change the "Daily Step Goal" by tapping on it

    For the iPhone, it says that it uses the built-in motion sensor.

    It was set to 10000, so we'll set it to 9000, then tap on the white check mark

    Now, under calories, it shows a very small bar that shows the amount of steps we've taken, and our daily goal

    The more we walk, the more the orange bar fills up.
