Steps

In order to proceed, make sure that your device is unlocked and that you are on the home screen

Swipe your finger down from the top of the home screen

This will show the notification panel.

In the top right-hand corner, find and tap a gear-shaped settings icon

At the top of the settings menu, you will see four different types of menu: "Connections", "Device", "Controls", and "General".

Scroll down the left-hand side until you see "Storage"

Scroll down the right screen until you see the "SD card" menu
.
You'll see "Total space", "Available space", "Unmount SD card", and "Format SD card".

When you want to take out your micro-SD card, you must safely remove it by unmounting it
.
All of your files will be safe. The micro-SD card is located on the right-hand side of the Samsung Note device.

To unmount the SD card safely, tap "Unmount SD card" once

The following message will be shown: "Unmounting SD card will stop some applications from functioning. Applications may not be available until you mount the SD card again."

The SD card will be unmounted. Now, the "SD card" panel will have "Mount SD card" as the option. That means that the SD card is safe to be removed.

On the right-hand panel, you will find the SD card slot

Simply remove the small piece that covers it.

Push the SD card with a finger or a smaller object like a toothpick to take it out of its place

When the SD card is out, you can safely pull it from its slot
