In this tutorial, we will teach you how to prevent pressing the voice while singing. The throat and other aspects may press the voice by forcing it to go beyond its limits that are comfortable for you. Steps

  1. 1
When a singer presses or pushes the voice, he or she may do it for a particular style of music
    .
The sign is possible irritation in the throat and voice as if "trapped" in the neck. This method damages his or her vocal cords. You should not feel as if you are taking a breath from the throat or from the chest. Breathing in this manner will create a pushing effect and close off the airflow from the lungs, and the diaphragm stops working. The oxygen enters your mouth and runs through trachea (it's like a tube) into the bronchi. The bronchi are like valves for the lungs. When you are pressing the voice, you are cutting off the "valves" and not using the diaphragm support. You won't be able to enunciate words.

A good way not to press the voice is to support your sound by the diaphragm muscles
    .
In other video tutorials, we spend a lot of time discussing good support from the diaphragm (tutorial 1; tutorial 2) and good posture with a proper posture and abdominal support for a greater potential for the lungs to expand in singing. This will allow space for the lungs to expand with air that will provide a better quality of sound.

We can feel the expansion of our diaphragm by placing our hands on our oblique muscles, just in front of the kidney area
    .
Hold your breath by tightening your abdominal muscles to place less strain on your throat. When singing, your throat should be open, as if you are yawning. Yawning opens up the airflow. This space in diaphragm and throat allows for more resonance in singing.
