Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to prevent other computers from accessing the CD-ROM on your computer running Windows 8.
The first thing we need to do is access the security policies, and the easiest way to do this is to right-click on the Start menu icon at the lower left corner of the screen.
On the menu that appears, select "Run".
Now, type in "secpol.msc.
Then press the "Enter" key.
When the "Local Security Policy" window opens, double-click on "Local Policies" on the left.
Next, click "Security Options".
On the right-hand side of the window, we need to select "Devices: Restrict CD-ROM access to locally logged-on users only". Double-click on that option.
Then click on the circle next to "Enabled" to choose that option.
Now, click "OK" at the bottom.
Once this is done, we can close the "Local Security Policy" window by clicking on the "x" in the top right corner.
This concludes our tutorial on how to prevent other computers from accessing the CD-ROM on your Windows 8 computer. Thank you for watching VisiHow. If you have any other comments or questions, please leave them in the comment section below.
