Steps

  1. 1
Get an eye shadow base or eye shadow primer
    .
The one that we'll be using for this tutorial, which is our own personal favorite, is called Shadow Insurance by Too Faced. It's an anti-crease eye shadow primer. It is slightly oily, but for our own skin, it tends to do the best job.

Squeeze just a little bit from the tube onto a ring finger
    .
As we can see, we really don't need very much product.

Apply a bit underneath as well
    .
We do place a little bit of eyeliner and eye shadow sometimes underneath.

    Blend it in

Make sure that we have even coverage and that there are no smudges or streaks left.

    Repeat for the other eyelid
    .
The primer does not have a color, so it will not show up. We like to blend it until it dries completely, since it is slightly oily. Now our eyes are prepared and we're ready to apply eye shadow directly on top.
