In order to turn an iPad Air 2 off the Power button needs to be pressed

If the tablet is in landscape mode, or positioned horizontally, then the fingerprint sensor will appear on the right side in the middle.

The front facing camera will appear on the left side in the middle

Directly up from the front facing camera on the left side is the Power button
.
Pressing and holding the Power button will enable you to turn the iPad off.

Press and hold the Power button now

Once you do it, the screen will change.

There will be a Power icon, which will ask you to "Slide to power off."

There will also be an "X" in the bottom, which allows you to "Cancel."

If the iPad is in Portrait mode, then the front facing camera will be in the center of the iPad.
