Post an Advert on Gumtree on iPhone 6
Edited by Freya, Amanda, Eng
You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how you can post an advert on the Gumtree application on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, unlock the phone
.
Either press the lock button on the side, or the home button at the bottom.
2
Swipe from left to right across the screen
.
3
Enter the passcode, or press a finger to the home button to use the fingerprint scanner
.
4
The icon is white with a tree on it. Tap once to open it up. It will automatically take us to our home page, which is indicated by a green house icon in the bottom left-hand corner. Next to that, we have a camera icon, which says "Post" beneath it.
5
It gives us the option to add some information about what we want to advertise.
6
7
Press the first box, which is highlighted in a darker gray
.
8
Press "Camera" on the pop-up window that appears
.
If this is our first time, we will get a message that says ""Gumtree" Would Like to Access the Camera".
9
10
Now we're looking at the camera
.
11
Press the circle button at the bottom of the phone to take a photo
.
We're looking at the photo now, not the camera.
12
Tap "Use Photo" if we like it, or "Retake" if we're not happy with it
.
We're going to say "Use Photo". If this is our first time, Gumtree will need photo access as well, not just camera access.
13
Now our photo is available.
14
Add another one by tapping on the next dark gray square icon
.
15
Because Gumtree has access to our photos, we can select directly from our library.
16
We will select one of our previously taken photos. A white checkmark will appear to show we have selected it.
17
Press "Done" in the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
We can add up to eight different pictures, but we will just do two for now.
18
Press "Ad details" to go back
.
19
20
Tap on "Enter a description for your Ad"
.
21
Type in the description, whatever it is, depending on the item
.
22
Press "Subject Category"
.
23
Scroll down and press a category
.
We will use "For Sale".
24
Press any sub-categories
.
We will choose "Appliances" and "Dishwashers".
25
Check the page for any red text
.
In our demonstration, our description is red, because it does not meet the "Minimum 12 words" requirement.
26
We will fill ours in with gibberish. It's definitely at least 12 words now, and no longer red.
27
We'll say "1.00". One pound, for nothing.
28
When we're happy, press "Next" in the top right corner.
29
We should have our email enabled and our phone as well. The sliders will be blue if these are enabled. If we prefer to be contacted by email, we could disable our phone by tapping once on the adjacent slider so it turns gray. It's the same for email as well, although email is compulsory. Disabling it turns the text red, which means it's not valid. Let's get rid of our "Contact Phone" option.
30
Press "Your Location" to add a location
.
31
Type in a postal code and select a location
.
32
We can add our local area if we like.
33
Use the slider icon to enable or disable "Show a map on my ad"
.
It is enabled automatically, but we can disable as well if we like.
34
Press "Contact" in the top left corner to go back
.
35
Press "Submit" in the top right-hand corner
.
Our ad has been posted.
36
Choose how long the advert will be up for
.
The length will depend on if we want to spend money. We will press "Skip" in the top right corner.
37
Press "Done" in the top right-hand corner
.
Our ad has been posted and we are taken to the "My Ads" page, indicated by the title and the green head and shoulders icon in the bottom middle of the screen. We can see our advert listed.
38
Press the house icon in the bottom left corner
.
Now we're back to the page where we began.
39
We've just shown you how you can post an advert on the Gumtree application on the iPhone 6. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to add them into the section below and we'll do our best to get back to you.
