   First, take your cleaning rod, designed to go into the flute.

   Put the cloth around the rod in order to form a baton that you will use to clean the flute

   Start with the mouthpiece

   Push the stick inside of it and go back and forth in order to clean the piece of any debris, condensation, or residue and leftover from your playing.

   Take the upper casing of the flute off the lower casing

   .

   Clean it as shown in the previous Make sure that the cloth is still around the rod, so that you don't lose the cloth inside of your instrument. Push the cloth all the way through to the other side, until it comes out. This will remove any condensation and any residue built up in any of the components.

   There are two key aspects you must remember while holding the flute

   You must remember about breathing through the diaphragm in order to create a good foundation for support of the breath. Remember not to close off the throat, as you will pinch the sound; and you will have a very "closed" sound. Remember about posture, as it is a very key aspect as to how you stand, with your shoulders parallel to your feet.
