Play Foundation Blues Music on an Acoustic Guitar

Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this series of videos, we are looking at guitar techniques for the absolute beginner. In this video, we're going to a couple of blues licks. These are things you can play that sound nice and can be incorporated into other things to make something unique.

Steps

    For the first one, we're going to start on the second fret of the G string. We're just going to slide across.

    Slide it across from the second fret to the fourth, and with your index finger pick the B string on the third fret.

    And then go back.

    You can do some string bending as well. That's another technique.

    For the second lick I'm going to show you, we're going to work on the third and fifth fret of the B string and the E string. First, we're going to put our index finger on the third fret of the B string.

    Then ring finger on the fifth fret of the B string.

    Go down to the fifth fret of the E string.

    And then from the fifth fret of the E string to the third fret of the E string.

    Let's do that again.

    And then we're going to play the open B string, and then hammer on.

    Now for the next lick I'm going to show you, we're going to put our middle finger on the fifth fret of the B string.

    You're going to pluck that.

    Then the open E string at the bottom.

    And then the B string again.
