Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to pin and unpin a screen on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons.

   Find a screen to pin

   To do that, we're going to open the applications folder using the icon at the bottom, in the middle. It is a grid of small white dots.

   We're now going to open a random application, "Stocks"

   .

   We want to pin this to the HTC One M8, but we can't pin it directly from the application. There is no menu that allows us to pin or unpin. What we need to do is enter the recent applications section.

   We can do that by pressing the icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen

   It has a white outline of a square with another one behind it. This will open up our recent applications.

   If we press down on the screen and scroll, we will see all of our recent applications

   We can see the Stocks application at the bottom.

   We need to press the pin icon in the bottom right-hand corner

   It's a turquoise circle with a white pin.

   We need to confirm this choice by pressing "START"

   It says, "Use screen pinning? Screen pinning locks the display in a single view. To unpin, touch and hold Back and Recent Apps at the same time.

   At the bottom, it will say "Screen pinned"

   The screen is stuck and will not move. Even if we press the back button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, nothing will happen.

    It will give us an alert at the bottom telling us how to unpin the screen

    "To unpin this screen, touch and hold Back and Recent Apps at the same time". Screen pinning is very useful if we just want to focus on one thing.

    To unpin, as it said, press the back button and recent apps button at the bottom

    The back arrow is in the bottom left-hand corner and the recent apps button is in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

    An important thing to mention is that we can only pin the first application in the recent apps.
