You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to attack in the Gloria Victis online player-versus-player game for Windows.
The first thing we need to do is to find someone to attack. To do that, we are going to run down the road.
Note that while we are running down the road, we are looking for anything like mushrooms. We can find those and double-click to gather them, collect them, use them in crafting, or use them in a number of other functions. Always keep an eye for things that stick out. There are rocks to the sides, a rock farther down the road, and a rock up ahead.
Let's approach a rock and see what it has. We can double-click the rock. We'll be mining the rock for limonite, which is a resource used for building weapons and creating things similar to weapons. We will note that some crafting or gathering will take longer.
Let's press "I". We'll demonstrate the reason.
We move our mouse over something such as our axe that we are currently using. We can see our attacks. Those are "Overhead", "From right", "From left", and "Stab". Each of those has a different rating (1.2 damage, 0.3 damage, etc.) Some do more, and some do less. At the bottom, we have a list of "Gathering resources". "Chopping" is at 0.9 multiplier. "Mining", "Digging", and "Mowing" are all at lower modifiers. However, the axe is a very versatile thing. It is helpful to be used in that regard.
Let's close the inventory window. We can have a specialized tools that make us faster at some processes.
Let's run. There is someone standing outside. This is probably a hostile person, as friendly people do not usually stand outside. "Camp-follower Level 3".
When we move the mouse over the person, we'll see at the bottom, under our character, there will be a pop-up listing the person as level 3. We are not level 3, but we are going to go ahead and try to attack him.
We press "F" to draw our weapon. This will allow us to begin attacking.
We can click our left mouse button to attack.
We can move our mouse up with the left click.
We can move our mouse down with the left click.
We can move our mouse wheel left and right.
The longer we hold the left mouse button, the stronger the attack is. So, an overhead attack will do a maximum damage if we hold the button for long enough. It will also drain our stamina.
We press "F" to put our weapon away.
We'll move our mouse cursor to the left to see the stamina recovering from the drainage. When we have no stamina left, we will not be able to fight well.
Let's run forward to attack the fellow. We start by drawing our weapon. We land one big hit. Let's do another one and another one. Hopefully, we will survive the encounter. We did.
Now, we press "F" to put our weapon away.
Then, we press "E" to loot all of the possessions. This fellow had some copper.
We click the little hand to loot the items. We've looted copper.
Now, we rest up for a second. We get ourselves healed up.
Then, we can run towards the next character.
We can draw our weapon by pressing "F". We make an attack, hold the attack button, and run towards the person. We do it as a crazy viking with his axe in the air.
We let go of the mouse button as soon as we are close enough. It does not always work out well. Now, we have defeated yet another of our many enemies.
We press "E" to loot the items. Again, we have some money. The more people we attack, the better are our chances of finding things. Additionally, we will also gain valuable items such as weapons, armor, and things like those.
As we are running around, looking for other people to attack, remember that if we find trees, we can double-click them to chop the wood and gather resources. We can double-click trees, stones, mushrooms, and anything that we find. The gathered resources can be used by our character later to craft items. Some of those items are quite impressive.
There is a shiny light spot, but, apparently, it is nothing.
We'll run around. The interface is a bit clunky.
We press "F" to draw our weapon.
If we want an overhead attack, we can also move our move from top to bottom. We can drag the mouse up and down. The mouse does not always catch our commands, so we have to be repetitive with our drags. which is why it seems that we look up in the air. The lag is why some people might be better than others.
This concludes our tutorial on basic attacking. We have other VisiHow tutorials on advanced attacks, strafing, and other advanced movements. At any rate, this tutorial is enough to get you started. You can run around and chop things up. The game does provide some entertainment value. You can run around, attack local creatures, and craft. This game is mentioned to be still in the Beta state, but there is a lot going on with the game. VisiHow has some more tutorials on how to be a part of this game if you want to shape this game as it develops. Thanks for choosing VisiHow! Have a great game! See you in the game or in our next tutorials.
