- 8For example, if we want to send a Word document to the second desktop, we press "2" while holding the top of the document. Alternatively, we press "1" to move the item to the first desktop. Let's press "2" and leave the document on the second desktop.Another way to move items between desktops is to click and hold the top of the document and then press "Control" and the number of the desktop to which we want to send the item.
