    To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

    Once the phone is activated, swipe the lock screen up to go to the home screen

    On the home screen, locate the Microsoft Office tile

    It has an orange background with an image of a 3D square on it. If the Microsoft Office tile is not on the home screen, swipe left to find it in the Apps menu.

    To open a blank document press the plus sign at the bottom of the screen

    Now, text can be added, and the document can be created.

    To save the document, first press on the ellipsis, or three dots in a row, at the bottom right corner of the screen

    This will bring up the options to "share," "save," and "save as."

    Tap on "save as." If the document has been previously saved, "save" can be chosen instead

    On the "Save Document" screen, press on the text box below "Save to" to choose a location for the file

    It can be saved to the "phone," "SD card," or the "OneDrive." Although the OneDrive is usually more secure, you may not want to have the document out on the internet.
