Open Internet Explorer Web Links in New Tab on Microsoft Lumia 535
Edited by Thor, Rushell, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to open a link from a webpage in another tab on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the right-hand side of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the Lock screen.
Swipe the Lock screen up to unlock the phone.
Now, we have arrived at the Home screen, and we need to find the Internet Explorer tile. It has a blue tile background, and in the middle there is the Internet Explorer icon.
Press down on this tile, and it will open the Internet Explorer application.
We have already opened a website, or webpage, which appears on our screen. This webpage has some links in it. This is an article from The Guardian. We want to demonstrate how to open some of the links in another tab.
We need to find a section of the article that is highlighted in blue. If we see this type of text in an article, it means that it can be activated. We can press down on it, and it will take us to a new webpage. However, if we do that, we could lose the page that is currently open as it navigates to the new webpage. Therefore, we want to open the link in a new another tab, so we can still come back and look at the information on the current webpage.
To do that, we're going to press down on the highlighted area and hold down.
After a few seconds, a short menu will appear.
We want the option at the top that says, "open in new tab". Press down on that, and it will open the webpage in a new tab.
Now, we can view these new tabs, as well as the old tabs, and all the tabs that are open by pressing on the icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. There is a white circle, and inside there is the outline of two pieces of paper.
Press down on this icon, and we can see the "TABS". We can see the webpage we were viewing previously as well as the tab we have just opened.
This concludes our tutorial on how to open a link in a webpage in another tab on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
