My tablet is a Dell, and I forgot its password. When I perform a recovery using the Volume - and Power buttons, it still leaves the password there?

What further can I do so as to have the tablet reset properly and the password removed?

Some Android tablets are programmed with alternative recovery mode key combinations, depending on the buttons available on the tablet. This could be the case with your Dell, since a proper Factory Reset on an Android device will wipe the forgotten password so you can use your tablet again. The great VisiHow article below lists the most common alternative recovery mode key combinations, but we'll list them here again for easy access:

  • Volume Up + Camera button.
  • Volume Down + Power button.
  • Volume Up + Power button.
  • Volume Up + Home + Power button.
  • Volume Down + Volume Up + Power button.
  • Home + Camera button.
  • Home + Power button.

If one of these key combinations boots your tablet into its recovery mode, make sure to follow all of the instructions in the great VisiHow article below to perform a proper Factory Reset. Simply booting the tablet into recovery mode, doing nothing, and then restarting your device won't perform the Factory Reset. You need to go through all of the instructions in the article to properly perform a Factory Reset to get rid of your password so you can use your Android device again.

If none of these key combinations boot your Dell Android tablet into its recovery mode, you will need to contact Dell's customer service line to speak to a customer service representative who can tell you how to get your tablet into its recovery mode. If they help you and the Factory Reset for whatever reason does not work, they will help you schedule a repair or replacement for your tablet, since your tablet is unable to fix its software through a Factory Reset. Depending on the severity of the hardware malfunction and the terms of your warranty with Dell, you may or may not have to pay for these repairs or the replacement Dell Android tablet.

I have an Astrum M7LK tablet which I want to reset, however I put too many patterns and now its blocked, the WiFi is off and so I can't log in. It has a reset button at the back and so I used a pin to press it along with the power button however this will only get me to a point where Android man is lying on his back with a red triangle after a few minutes, it then switches on normally with no change?

Astrum tablet M7LK no volume button or home button

Click the Power button quickly when the tablet shows the Android with the triangle. This is the entrance to the Recovery Menu. If this does not work then press any other buttons you may have on the tablet. You may even have to quickly press the pinhole again.

Hi, Win 10 upgrade seems to have shoved my Dell Venue 8 into la la land?

It only shows a blue screen with a dark blue line across the bottom and three icons on the left, three on the right. However, clicking on them has no effect. It's been like this for a couple of weeks now.. I have tried: I have reset several times. I just read about your Power + Volume down, and that is running a through test that says they're complete. Now the screen looks normal, and I could select a program. It ran, but seems to have locked up in the middle. I get a Microsoft Windows note that the program has stalled.. I think it was caused by: I think it was the Win 10 update. I'm going to try to restore to an earlier version.

Hi, good morning. My Polaroid table is locked but the device doesn't have a volume button on the device itself?

Do you know an easy way to unlock it. I have tried: I tried the Gmail password and its not working. I think it was caused by: Honestly I don't know

Your WiFi to the tablet may be turned off or your Google Account has 2 step verification enabled. This can my changed by clicking My Account in your Google Account on the PC. For Polaroid tablets, you need to install new firmware from [southerntelecom.com/polaroidsupport/firmware/ Southern Telecom's website]. Be sure of your model before you install new firmware because you will need the specific model number to get the correct firmware. This can be found under the back cover of the tablet if you do not see it anywhere else.
