My Note3 is dead but contains all my contacts, any suggestions?

How to retrieve from a dead phone

As internal memory is soldered onto the phone, copying data off it is not even relatively easy to do. You will have to restore some contact data from the microSD card and the SIM card by just placing them into a new phone and selecting the "Import" option in the Contacts application. Please note that if you decide to use the microSD back-up, then you had to back the contacts up to the microSD card previously. You can also see all of the contacts at https://contacts.google.com, which will be restored once you enter your Google account data on a new phone and let the smartphone synchronize with the Google server.

My issue is a bit more complicated than that?

I am trying to bring a Galaxy S4 from Verizon to T-Mobile. I was told by Verizon the phone was unlocked. I swapped in the new T-Mobile SIM card. I ran into various issues that T-Mobile support was able to assist with, until the last issue. On that issue, they had suggested I back up the phone and do a Master Reset. I backed up and did the reset, and when the phone tries to boot back up it gets the message "the SIM card is not from Verizon wireless" and won't proceed from that point. So, I can't boot up the phone. T-Mobile support, at that point, was not helpful. I'm trying to see if I have any options before re-installing the Verizon SIM.
