Hard reset your Android phone or tablet when you forget the passcode or lock pattern

There is no command prompt when I try to Factory Reset, there is just a picture of a lying Android with an open hatch?

I have an old tablet (Anderson ADT2.6) and I've forgot the pass-code, after trying it locked itself. To unlock it using my Gmail account I need WiFi, which I don't have so I can't unlock it. Our Chinese Smartphone with PTel service does not work after porting its number to TING (Tucows). No password available to reset it?

We have a Chinese Smartphone with PTel service. We ported its number to TING (Tucows) and activated the SIM card by phone. Just before that, the phone buttons appeared dimmed, I think it has to do with the phone password, that was requested at some point but did not work with the one we had. Now I lost it because the text messages in the phone where it was is gone. We need the phone to work again, now with TING.

Restore Samsung Galaxy S4 to factory pass pattern locked?

Usual procedure of holding vol control (up or down or both) plus power button, or all together with home button don't bring up restore screen - the phone just boots to the pattern screen normally when the buttons are released.

I there another way to reset the phone - say through a PC connection with software?

I have a Harrier Tab from EE that I have forgotten the password for. I have tried on numerous occasions to reset to factory settings, but it then tries to re-sync to my old settings, requiring the password I had forgotten. Hi, my thinkpad is being weird?
