You are watching VisiHow. In this video, I am going to show you how you can mute a conversation on the Kik application on an iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we need to unlock the phone by pressing the lock button on the side or the home button at the bottom
.
2
Swipe right to enter the passcode or use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone
.
3
Once we are at our home screen, we need to find the Kik icon which is this one here with a black speech bubble
.
Tap once to open Kik.
4
The app will automatically take us to the screen where we can view different chats
.
5
What we need to do is tap on one of the chats
.
6
In the top right-hand corner, we have an icon with two overlapping circles and a plus sign; tap this icon to bring up information about the person we are chatting with and other different options
.
7
For the first option, we have a bell on the left-hand side which indicates "Mute"
.
We also have a bubble on the right side.
8
The bubble will turn green and gives us an option for how long we want to mute the chat.
9
In our case, we are going to tap "1 hour"
.
10
It will update the settings
.
11
Now it says, "Muted Until 3:36 pm"
.
12
We can go back by pressing the back button
.
13
Now if this person talks to us, we won't be notified
.
Mute is indicated on the right-hand side of the chat.
14
To unmute someone, go back into the chat and press the overlapping circle and plus sign icon again
.
15
Tap on the green bubble and that will unmute the chat
.
16
Now it is unmuted so we can go back until we reach the chats screen
.
17
Now the screen is normal
.
If the person sends us a message, we will now be notified.
