Mute Individual Tabs in Google Chrome
Edited by Fish, Alexander Avdeev
Hi,, VisiHow! This is a tutorial on how to mute individual tabs in Google Chrome.
Steps
1
The first thing we need to do is to open up Google Chrome
.
2
The setting to mute individual tabs cannot be found in the "Settings" area of Google Chrome
.
Instead, we must copy and paste a line of text after this sentence into the search box. chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting
3
Once we've done this, simply go to this by pressing "Enter"
.
We'll be taken to a special settings tab in Google Chrome.
4
We look for the line that says "Enable tab audio muting UI control"
.
We then click "Enable" under the line.
5
Once this is done, we must restart the computer or restart Google Chrome
.
6
Once again, we open up Google Chrome
.
7
8
Once the tab starts to have sound, we'll see a little speaker pop-up right on the top of the tab
.
9
We simply click on the speaker icon, and it will turn red
.
Sound is no longer coming out of that tab. However, all of the other tabs will still have sound.
10
We click the speaker icon again to unmute the tab
.
