iOS 13 came with some nifty OS enhancements; Dark mode, Memoji stickers, and privacy, to name a few. Another handy feature added to the iOS 13 lineup was the option to mute specific email threads. By using the left-swipe menu on an email when viewing your inbox, users can mute the entire thread.

Receiving notifications for every single reply in a lengthy email conversation can get annoying rather quickly. To eliminate this, mute the specific email threads that seem to go on and on, so messing with your notification settings won't be necessary.

In the following Visi guide, we'll show you how to mute/unmute email threads, as well as how to choose how muted email threads behave.

For this article, we used an iPhone 7 running iOS 13.3.

   Open the Mail app.

   Swipe left on an email thread, then tap More.

   Swipe up to see the options below, then tap Mute.

   Once an email thread gets muted, the mute icon will appear in the far-right corner.

   To unmute an email thread, swipe left on it, tap More, then scroll down and tap Unmute.

   You also have the option of muting a thread directly from inside a message

   With one of the messages open, tap the reply icon in the lower right corner.

   Swipe upward to see the options at the bottom, then tap Mute.

   To unmute a thread, open a message, tap the reply icon, then tap Unmute.
