You're watching VisiHow! This is a tutorial on how to move an email message into a folder with Microsoft Outlook on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we press the Lock button on the upper right-hand side of the phone
.
One tap will open up the Lock screen.
2
Alternatively, we can also press the Home button
.
3
Then, we swipe across the screen
.
4
We enter our PIN or give a single press with the thumb or a finger to activate the fingerprint lock, which will let us enter the phone
.
5
We should look for the Outlook icon
.
In this case, it is moved down to the bar. This icon has a blue background with a white piece of paper that has "O" on it and an envelope in the back. In the video, there are five unread messages that can be seen by the red notification circle with "5".
6
We tap "Outlook" to get started
.
Once we give the icon a single tap, we will be shown the list of our email messages.
7
To check if there are more messages, we can swipe down
.
If all messages have been loaded, "Mailbox up-to-date" will pop up at the bottom. We are looking for a way to move a message.
8
In this case, we are going to move the "Skype" message by tapping and holding it
.
This will bring up a check box next to the message. Underneath, we will have a number of different options.
9
One of the options is to move the message to the archive folder
.
10
One is to delete the message
.
11
One is to create a new folder and move the message into it
.
12
One is to send the message
.
13
One is to flag the message
.
14
In this case, we need the button in the middle at the bottom
.
Now, we will have the option to move the selected conversation to a new folder. In the video, there is a number of different folders for different people and items; but the "Skype" folder is not there.
15
To create a new folder, we tap the plus sign in the upper right-hand corner
.
Tapping the plus sign will allow us to create a new folder.
16
We enter the name for the folder
.
In this case, it is "Skype".
17
We tap "save" to create the new folder
.
Now, if we go back, we will not move the email conversation that we need to move.
18
We just need to tap the folder to move the file there
.
Now, the file has been moved to the new folder. The folder is "Skype" in this example.
19
If we want to confirm that this has happened, we tap the little three lines, a hotdog menu, as we call them
.
The menu is in the top left-hand corner.
20
21
We tap the folder to where the file has been moved
.
The folder is "Skype" in this example. The moved message will be in the folder.
22
If we want to go back to the standard email box, we tap the hotdog menu in the top left-hand corner
.
23
24
We tap "Inbox" to go back to the inbox folder
.
