Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to minimize all but the active window on Windows 8 computers. We will show you two methods, one using a keyboard shortcut, and the other using your mouse. For this example, we're going to open several Windows. You can use any Windows, however.

    Double-click on a folder

    It doesn't matter how many applications, programs or Windows we have open here. The key here is to make one window active by clicking on it. In this example, we currently have two Windows open. The window on the right is active. Let's switch and make the left window active.

    Click on the inactive window

    Its border should be a light color, unlike the border on the active window. In our case, because of our computer personalization settings, the active window is bordered in bright blue.
