Minimize All But Active Windows in Windows 8

Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to minimize all but the active window on Windows 8 computers. We will show you two methods, one using a keyboard shortcut, and the other using your mouse. For this example, we're going to open several Windows. You can use any Windows, however.

    Double-click "This PC"

    Double-click on a folder

    We will choose "VisiHow".

    It doesn't matter how many applications, programs or Windows we have open here. The key here is to make one window active by clicking on it. In this example, we currently have two Windows open. The window on the right is active. Let's switch and make the left window active.

    Click on the inactive window

    Its border should be a light color, unlike the border on the active window. In our case, because of our computer personalization settings, the active window is bordered in bright blue.

    Now the window on the left is active

    On our screen, it is bordered in blue. Let's minimize all Windows except for the one that is active.

    Press and hold the Windows key on the keyboard

    All other Windows will be minimized except for the one that was active. Let's repeat this process using the mouse.
