   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Gmail application

   .

   There is a Gmail icon, which is an envelope with a red 'M', and underneath it says the word "Gmail". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder. We want to demonstrate how to mark an email as important. This is very useful because it allows us to group individual emails into one area. There's a folder labeled "Important", and if we mark emails as important, it will send those emails to that folder, making them easier to access.

    This is the folder that the important emails go to. It's important to note, it's not just for emails that we've personally marked as important. If someone marks a message as important and sends it to us, we can also find that email in this folder.
