From the home screen, tap on "Settings"
From "Settings", scroll down until you reach "Battery"
In the "Battery", you can enable "Low Power Mode"
To do that, tap the toggle until it turns green. "Low Power Mode" will reduce or turn off the following items: mail fetching, the "Hi,, Siri!" service, background application refreshing, automatic downloads, and some visual effects.

If you are not on the "Battery" screen, return to the "Settings" page by tapping the back arrow in the top-left corner. Then, tap on "Battery".
