Manage Settings on the YouTube App on Android
Edited by Jay, Maria Quinney
Google's YouTube app is one of the most used mobile applications in the smartphone world. With bandwidth and data getting cheaper and cheaper as the year's pass, it's no wonder more users choose video as their preferred medium. YouTube's app for Android is better designed for mobile devices than the mobile site, and because it's free, it's heavily used by millions of people every minute of every day.
YouTube's app works with or without a Google account, the only restrictions when not signed is the ability to; comment, upload, and save. The app's settings remain pretty much the same whether a user is logged in or not. Properly managing the YouTube app's settings is essential for users that use the app regularly. Getting the most out of the app comes down to having your settings set according to how you use the application.
In the following VisiHow guide, we're going to go through each settings category in detail. For this tutorial, we used a Google Pixel running Android 8.1.0.
