Manage Labels or Folders in Gmail on HTC One M8

Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to manage your labels or folders in Gmail on an HTC One M8.
Steps
- 1Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone.
- 2Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up.
- 3There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen.
- 4There is a Gmail icon, which is an envelope with a red 'M', and underneath it says the word "Gmail". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder. We now need to find the settings menu.Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Gmail application.
- 5There are 3 horizontal lines. This will open up a menu.To do that, we need to tap the icon in the top left-hand corner.
- 6Scroll down and tap on "Settings".
- 7In this example, it's "visihowl@gmail.com". This will open our account options.Tap on the middle option, which will be the email address set up with the application.
- 8They're called labels but are sometimes referred to as 'categories' as well. If we press down on this section, we'll see all of our different labels or folders. We can edit each folder or label. Some labels will already be synced, so they will say "Sync" underneath of the titles.We want to press down on "Manage labels".
- 9We'll tap on "Social". Right now, we're not receiving any notifications for this particular label or folder.We can tap on any label to change the settings.
- 10If the box is blue with a white check mark, then it's enabled. We can then edit some of the options.We can tap on the box to the right of "Label notifications" to turn the notifications on.
- 11We can choose a different sound, we can choose if it vibrates, or to be notified for every message.
- 12When we're done, we can tap on the white back arrow in the top right-hand corner.
- 13We'll choose "Important". In this example, it says, "Sync messages. No messages will download" because this label is not synced.We can then choose another folder or label.
- 14To sync this label, tap on "Sync messages".
- 15The options are "Sync: None", "Sync: Last 30 days" or "Sync: All". This label will then be synced to the phone.Tap on the selected option.
- 16We'll go back again by tapping on the white arrow in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
- 17We'll choose "Promotions".Choose another label.
- 18We can also tap on "Sync messages" to turn off the syncing for this email.

- 20We can then go through all of the labels and syncs or desync them, as well as choose if we receive notifications from them, and what the notification sound will be.We'll go back again.
