Manage Google plus Circles on iPhone 6
Edited by Grimm, JellyBean, Eng
You're watching VisiHow. Today, we're going to teach you how to manage circles on the Google Plus application for your iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To get started, give your Home button a single press
.
2
Alternatively, we can press the Lock button in the upper right-hand side of the phone
.
Then we're going to swipe across the screen.
3
Enter in a PIN or passcode if there is one, or take a lovely finger and press it on that Home button, which is also a fingerprint scanner
.
4
Once we've done that, we're looking for the Google Plus application
.
On this phone, it's in the "Social" folder on the second page. Give it a quick tap, and there's "Google+".
5
We're going to open that up. Let's see what's in here in the phone. It's going to bring us into the phone and notify us of any new or interesting things that may have happened. If we have any notifications, they're going to show up on this screen.
6
Let's give that icon that looks like 2 bells a tap
.
7
Let's see, "Forrest Rodriguez" added us to his circles
.
8
"Wut Aay", whoever that is, shows up
.
There are different people here who've added us on.
9
So, let's tap "Forrest Rodriguez" and see what he's got here
.
Do we know Forrest? We do not know Forrest. He lives in a place called "New york ha noi", which we've not heard of before. Anyway, we can be pretty sure that this is someone that we're not interested in following at all.
10
If we want to add him to a circle, we can do that
.
Simply, tap "Add to circles" and then we get some options, such as "Acquaintances", "Friends", "Family", or "Following".
11
We can tuck him in the "Acquaintances" circle, and now he's in that circle
.
12
If we no longer want him in the "Acquaintances" circle, we tap him again
.
13
Then we uncheck the box next to "Acquaintances"
.
14
He is now, no longer followed by us
.
We should update right now.
15
We can also tap Back on the Notifications button, to go back into the main area
.
16
17
From there, we can just tap anywhere, outside of that section
.
That will take us back to our main area.
18
What we're looking for next is known as a Hotdog menu, which is three little lines in the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
Someone was probably hungry one day and decided it was hot dogs.
19
We're going to tap that, and instead of going to people, we're going to go to Settings
.
Tap on the Settings icon.
20
If we look down on the screen, we'll see "Circles"
.
21
Tap on "Circles" and we can see that we have the "Acquaintances" circle set up, we have the "Following" circle set up, we have "Family" and we have "Friends"
.
We can choose what we share with our Circles or we can tap on a single Circle.
22
This way we can see what the "Name" is, "Show posts", if we get "Notifications" and whether or not they're "Included" in "Your circles"
.
We can also "Delete Circle".
23
If we want to change the name of a circle, we simply change the name
.
24
When we've done that, tap "Done"
.
25
We're not going to change that name because these are "Acquaintances" and we like them that way
.
Now, we're going to go back one more time and here we can see sharing with "Your circles".
26
When we tap on this, it shows what we're sharing with "Your circles"
.
27
If we share something, we're not sharing it with the people we're following
.
We're sharing it to our "Acquaintances", my "Family" and my "Friends". People we're following are people who share things with us, for instance, CNN or BBC or Reuters news. Let's tap Back, one more time.
28
Then, we'll tap Back the last time
.
29
Now we're back out to "Settings" and we're going to go one more time on the Back "X", to close up
.
30
Tap on the right-hand side of the screen
.
31
Now, we're back on our Home area
.
32
We can see that our friend and editor "R.J
.
Blain" is about to publish one of her newer books, which is great. Good for her, she's fantastic. "R.J. Blain", for those of us who are interested, she's got some great stuff and sometimes it's free on Amazon. Anyway, that concludes our tutorial on circles. R.J. is in one of my Friends circles because she's pretty cool. So, if you want to add your own people, your own contacts or just random folks and chat with them until you get to know someone, this is how you manage your circles on the Google plus application on an iPhone 6. Thanks for choosing VisiHow. I hope that you have a great day and we look forward to seeing you on some of our future videos. Goodbye.
