Welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to manage the Mozilla Firefox browsing history on a Windows 7 computer.
Steps
1
To get started, open the Mozilla Firefox browser
.
To do that, double-click on the icon. Wait for it to load.
2
Once the browser is fully loaded, go to the Settings
.
To go to the settings, first click on the menu icon in the top right-hand corner. A pop-up menu will open.
3
In this menu, locate and click on "Options"
.
A new tab will open.
4
In this tab, click on "Privacy" to open the privacy section
.
5
Firefox is currently set to remember history
.
To change this, click on the drop-down menu.
6
If "Never remember history" is chosen, a prompt will appear that says, "Firefox must restart to enable this feature." If "OK" is chosen, Firefox will restart and all of the history will be deleted and the history will never be saved again
.
7
To customize the settings, go back to the privacy section in the options by repeating steps 2-4
.
8
In the drop-down menu under history, "Use custom settings for history" can be chosen
.
Extra settings will appear.
9
If "Always use private browsing mode" is selected, the browser won't save cookies, history, and so on
.
If it is not selected, there are more options that become available.
10
Here, you can select what Firefox saves
.
"Remember my browsing and download history", "Remember search and form history", and "Accept cookies from sites". Select the options you want.
11
Exceptions for cookies can be set by clicking "Exceptions"
.
A new window will open.
12
In this window, add websites and click either "Allow", "Allow for Session" or "Block"
.
In this example, "VisiHow.com" is added and allowed. Click "Close" to close the window. Now, all of the cookies from VisiHow are allowed.
13
Choose whether or not to accept third-party cookies by clicking on the drop down menu next to it
.
Choose "Always", "From Visited", or "Never".
14
Choose whether to keep cookies until they expire, Firefox is closed or set it to ask you every time before deleting them
.
15
The last option is "Clear history when Firefox closes"
.
If this is selected, all of the history will be deleted when Firefox is closed. Close Firefox by clicking the red "X" in the top right corner.
