      • With Contacts opened, choose the contacts you want to share; tap and hold on the contact to view options.
      • From the options, tap on "Share Contact Via Message".
      • Choose what data of that contact you would like to share and tap on Done.
      • Select a messaging application, and you will be taken to the selected messaging app.
      • From the messaging app, choose the desired recipient and tap on the Send button.

    • Go to contacts.
    • Choose the contact number or person you want to send.
    • If you found it, simply tap and hold it until an option pops-up.

Change the order of Contacts in my Favorite list?

Yes, I want to change the order of contacts in my favorite list. Could you help with that?

You can change the order of the people on your contact list, but there are only two options to do this. "Sort by Given Name", or "Sort by Family Name". To do that, follow these procedures:

    • From Home screen, tap on the "Phone" icon on the lower-left part of the favorites bar.
    • On your Phone app, tap on the Contacts tab located on the extreme right part of the tab list.
    • On the Contacts tab. tap on the Menu key (lower-left soft button key) and tap on Settings.
    • On Contacts Settings, tap on the "Sort List By" option and choose the desired sorting method by ticking on any of the two options: "Given Name" and "Family Name".
    • Press the Back button once to get back to the Contacts page. You will now notice that the arrangement has changed to reflect the option you chose.

It is not currently possible to put selected people on top of the list, but you can select desired contacts to be part of your favorites. They will be seen in the Favorites tab. To accomplish this, follow these steps:

    • From Home screen, tap on the "Phone" icon on the lower-left part of the favorites bar.
    • On your Phone app, tap on the Contacts tab located on the extreme right part of the tab list.
    • Choose the contact you want to add into the Favorites tab.
    • From the selected contact's page, tap on the Favorite icon on the upper-right part of the page (star icon).
    • Tap on the back once to get back to Contacts, then tap on the Favorites tab.
    • You will now see that the selected contact is now on your the Favorites tab. This will allow you to easily view the details of the people you communicate with most.

Adding a member to group doesn't let me select the phone number.

I have both mobile & landline phone numbers for certain contacts. When I add them to a group, the phone never offers me the opportunity to select the phone number I want to use. So when I send a group test, the message gets sent to the landline phone, not the mobile. How do I fix it?

If you manually select your contact from the groups, you will be prompted what number will be used for SMS sending. This procedure can be a hassle because if you want to send a group message, you want to tap on the "Select All" button to easily select all contacts in the group. Selecting all contacts will automatically choose the first number on your contact's page. This means that if your contact has two numbers and the first one is 123, the second one is 124; then the phone will automatically use 123 as the number to send the SMS. To change these, follow these procedures:

    • From Home screen, tap on the "Phone" icon on the lower-left part of the favorites bar.
    • On your Phone app, tap on the Contacts tab located on the extreme right part of the tab list.
    • Choose the contact that you want to edit by tapping on it.
    • From the selected contact's page, you will see that your contact has his number details. If he has more than one number, they will be shown one below the other.
    • The top number will be selected as the default, to change it tap and hold on that number and choose copy.
    • Tap and hold on the same number again but this time choose delete.
    • The first number will now be deleted leaving the number below it as the default number.
    • You can add back the number by tapping on the Edit icon (pencil icon) on the upper part of the screen, then tap on the "+" icon to add a new number.
    • Tap and hold on the blank tab and choose "Paste" to paste the recently deleted number.
    • You are now done with changing the default number, try to send a test group message and you will now send your SMS to the right number.

What you can do is take off the landline number underneath the person's contact and from there add the number to the group. Afterwards you will need to add the landline number back to the contact afterwards to replace the number under the contact while having the mobile number the default number for the contact in your group.

I am trying to edit a contact but the icon is not allowing me to do so.

I tried to edit my contact, and an information window popped up telling me to go somewhere in my settings and change something but I didn't read it all and moved forward with my edit. Whatever I didn't change, is now not allowing me to edit any of my contacts. ??

    2. Select a contact.

Deleting contact groups on Samsung Galaxy S4, Android v4.3?

I am trying to delete contact groups on Samsung Galaxy S4, Android v4.3. I followed the manage contacts on Samsung Galaxy S4 on VisiHow. I followed the instructions, but when I pulled up the menu - it did not have Delete Groups as an option. Any help? Thanks!

If you have followed the steps above correctly, there should be a Delete option when you tap the menu button. There won't be a Delete option if what you are trying to delete is a default group such as ICE - Emergency Contacts, Co-workers, Family, Friends and Starred in Android. You can't delete these default groups. You can only delete the groups you have created.

I want to change the profile picture of my contact, but there is no pop after tapping the blank face icon. Help. What will I do now?

Depending where you tap on the Contact Details, you may need to continually tap on the contact icon a few times until an option to change the profile icon of contact is revealed. Go to your Home screen by pressing the Home button (lower-middle button of the phone). From the Home screen, tap on the Contacts icon, second icon on the Favorites tab on the lower part of your screen. From the list of contacts, tap on the Profile icon of the selected contact. Contact details will pop up, tap on the blank profile picture again. More detailed data on your contact will show. Tap on the profile picture for the last time and a pop up will show that will give you the option to change the profile picture by choosing from a saved image on phone, pictures by people, picture from S Memo or take a picture using your camera.

It could be a slight bug on your phone, try fixing it by doing a reboot:

    • On standby, long press the power button
    • Choose reboot/restart
    • Device will restart

NOTE: Make sure that the contact is saved on your phone and not on your SIM card.

I cannot see the Menu button to view the options as instructed in your article.

The Menu button referred to in the article is the physical button of the phone and not any button on the screen. The Menu button or Menu key is located on the lower-right part of your phone. It is located to the left of the Home key. There is no label to the button or any indication that it is the home button. It only appears as part of the cover but when it is tapped with your phone's screen on, then options will show. The Menu key is indicated in the picture below.

The "Menu" button is located on the lower-left side of the phone, not on the screen. It is the soft-touch button at the left side of the home button. Please see this image. http://screencast.com/t/nGu7l48yL

When I tap the menu button under contacts, I get the following list: Delete, Import/Export, Share Namecard Via, Merge Accounts, Accounts, Speed Dial Setting, Send Message, Contacts to Display, Settings and Help. There is no Delete Groups?

You are on the wrong tab. You cannot delete group contacts from the Contacts tab. You need to be on the Groups tab to delete Group contacts. To do that:

    • Go to your Home screen by tapping on the Home key.
    • Once you are on the Home screen, tap on the Contacts icon, second icon on the Favorites tab on the lower part of your screen.
    • You are now on the Contacts Tab; you want to go to Groups so you should tap the "Groups" tab.
    • From the Groups tab, tap on the Menu key located on the lower-left part of your phone.
    • You will see some options, tap on "Delete Group" to initiate deletion of the group.
    • From the "Delete Group" page, choose the group that you want to delete by putting a check mark on the tick box to the right of the group. You can choose all available groups by putting a check mark on "Select all".
    • Tap on Delete button on the upper-right part of your screen. Selected group/s will now be deleted.

See more questions like this: How do I merge two contact groups

I'm having two problems, but the most important is concerning text messages TO ME, photos and written copy.

I am usually able to receive written text copy, but very often I receive a square notification in text messages showing a message I need to "download". When I attempt to download the message, a small text in a white box appears that says "unable to download at this time". How do I fix this? If you respond, please assume I KNOW NOTHING about this phone or Android apps.

Merging Duplicate Contacts with only Phone and Email in Each?

I just got a new Samsung S4, and have imported my contacts from my SIM and my email accounts. Of course there were many duplicates so I'm trying to clean up my contact list. When I try to 'link contact' from a contact that has an email to a contact that only has a mobile number, I can't get it to work (and the 'Link Contact' option doesn't seem available for the contact that only has a mobile number). I have managed to download a couple of apps that have merged many of the duplicates, but there are still some that I need to do manually. Can you suggest how I should do this? Thanks.
