Method 1: with Vaseline

Hello, you are watching VisiHow. My name is Kara and in this video I will show you how to make a lip scrub with Vaseline.

Steps

  1. 1
So all I need is some Vaseline and a little bit of sugar. Let's get started. Vaseline is very thick and it works very well when you're doing scrubs, facial scrubs or hand scrubs. It will soften the damaged skin.

  2. 2
I am taking this much, maybe a quarter of a teaspoon and I will need approximately 3/4 of sugar.

  3. 3
I need to mix it all up to make it thick.

  4. 4
So this is the texture that I am working with. It's quite thick, but the Vaseline makes it smooth.

So the sugar will remove the dead cells of your lips. If you have cracked lips, the Vaseline will heal it. If you were to use salt on cracked lips it would give you unpleasant feelings, it will just hurt and burn your lips. So if you have cracked lips the sugar will work the best for you. Sugar will the remove the dead skin off and Vaseline will smooth it, and after applying the scrub, don't forget to use your favorite lip balm.

Method 2: with Honey

Hi, you're watching VisiHow and in today's video I will show you how to make a honey lip scrub at home. It's very easy. All you need is several very simple ingredients which probably each one of you already have in your house and they are olive oil, raw honey, sharp sugar and ginger.

Steps

  1. 1
I'm using ginger just to add a little of Asian smell. So let's start. I will need a tablespoon - almost a tablespoon - of honey. I'm using raw honey because it's thicker and it keeps all the vitamins and micro-elements.

  2. 2
You can buy it from the nearest farmer's market, or you can order it from Amazon. There are several companies that actually do deliver raw honey and it's real and it's (I'm honestly saying this) great! So, I will need to get a fresh spoon for this much of sugar. I would say to the 1/3 of a big tablespoon, or a full-sized tablespoon.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  3. 3
And a bit of ginger. You're welcome to use red pepper or cinnamon. I suspect that most of you would prefer to use cinnamon, but I'm choosing ginger. This much.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  4. 4
Okay. All I have left is to add some olive oil. I'm using extra virgin. I think it works best for this purposes. Half of a tablespoon.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  5. 5
Let's get rid of this plastic spoon; we don't need it any more. Now we need to mix up all the ingredients. It's getting thick.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  6. 6
Okay, I just need to mix up all the oil and spices and honey. Raw honey is very thick and it's difficult to get the oil, so I'm just rubbing in the oil from the sides of the plate, trying to get it inside the honey.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  7. 7
Okay, it's done. I think I made the amount of lip scrub that would be enough for a month. Seriously. Okay, I can put it in a little jar and store it in the fridge properly. So, the scrub is done and all we have left is to apply on my lips. So, let's move to the honey lip scrub that I just made. I have this amount, is actually enough to scrub the army of lips.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  8. 8
I will be using the tips of my fingers to apply the scrub. And scrub it on the lips. I love this hint of smell that the ginger adds.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  9. 9
Don't forget to rub the area around your lips (the borderline - the border) because many times it has the pores that get stuffed.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
  10. 10
Okay, so, as you can see, I still have a lot of scrub left here, which will be enough for weeks, or maybe months. I'm going to put it in a little glass jar and store it in the fridge. Next time that I feel that my skin on the lips are rough or they're cracked or just when you're not happy with the condition of your lips, I can just take it out of the fridge and use it.

  11. 11
Right now, I'm going to go and rinse my lips off, after which I will use my favourite EOS 100% organic lip balm which is a lavender smell.

Method 4: with Sugar and Olive Oil

Hi, you are watching VisiHow. My name is Kara. Today, I will show you how to make a homemade scrub for your lips. For that, I will need extra-virgin olive oil and some sugar. This type of scrub will help to increase the blood circulation in your lips and remove any dead skin, making your lips feel fresh full and clean.

    Steps

    1. 1
Put sugar onto a plate. Measure one teaspoon of sugar and put it onto a plate.

    3. 3
Mix well. Stir the oil and sugar together until it forms a paste. I am going to be applying it with the tips of my fingers.

Apply more of the scrub if needed. I am going to apply some more of the scrub to my lips. Okay, I think I am ready to wash this off.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    7. 7
Continue rubbing the scrub on your lips. Do not worry if the scrub or the oil gets onto the skin around your lips because you can wash it off.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    8. 8
Wash off your lips. I have just washed off my lips, and I have a slight burning sensation. Do not worry this is completely normal. This is mainly due to the increase of blood circulation. To finish, I am going to apply my favorite lip balm.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    9. 9
Apply lip balm. I am going to apply my favorite lip balm which is one hundred percent organic EOS, this is the honeysuckle honeydew flavor. Applying lip balm after scrubbing your lips will help to keep the lips moisturized, and if they were damaged any by the sugar crystals this will help cover that.

    Method 5: with Sea Salt

Hello, you are watching VisiHow and today I will show you how to make the most simple homemade scrub in the world. The scrub for your lips is going to be a sea salt scrub. All I need is sea salt and a tiny bit of olive oil.

    Steps

    1. 1
So let's get started. We need a full teaspoon of salt, this much.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    2. 2
Half of a teaspoon of olive oil. Oops too much, let's get rid of it. If we need more we can always add more.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    3. 3
So I have half of a teaspoon of olive oil here, let's put it in the salt and mix it up.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    4. 4
Now as you can see I can add some more to it. OK another half of a spoon. So we now know that one full tablespoon of salt requires the same amount of olive oil.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    5. 5
Okay you have to make sure that there is no dry salt left anywhere, no dry spots.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    6. 6
The lip scrub is ready. This is one of the fastest and simplest recipe. Please for homemade lip scrubs you can see other ways of making lip scrubs, like the scrub with honey and spices and the lip scrub with Vaseline and the lip scrub with brown sugar. All the videos you can see on VisiHow. So the scrub is done and let's apply it on the lips.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    7. 7
Okay after I made the simplest and fast homemade lip scrub from salt and olive oil. I'm going to apply it on my lips and see how it works.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    8. 8
It's kind of mushy. Let's put it on. the scrub works really good when you have really, really rough skin that you want to get rid of. I applied it gently in circular motions and after you wash it off you will notice how different the scrub is from everything else.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    9. 9
You can see the recipes of different lip scrub that I've made on VisiHow. Some of them are less abrasive and are more soft and the sea salt scrub is the strongest scrub. OK you could go with a honey scrub or brown sugar scrub when your lips are not as bad and sea salt is for when you have really rough lips and you have dead skin on your lips and such. So I'm going to rinse this off.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    10. 10
As you can see from the color of my lips. They have changed because of the power of the sea salt lip scrub and brought some blood to my lips, which is good.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    11. 11
If I don't want it to get irritated with sensitive lips, I will take some lip balm and I would recommend you to do this the same thing.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    12. 12
I'm using EOS because it is a 100% organic and I do not like to use artificial chemicals in cosmetics. Thank you for watching VisiHow. If you would like to get any more tips on make-up and homemade beauty products, please leave your questions in the section below. Thank you and bye-bye.

    Method 6: with Brown Sugar

Hello, you are watching VisiHow and today I am going to show you how to make a lip scrub with brown sugar. All I need is brown sugar and a little bit of raw honey, olive oil and a vanilla extract just for smell. Doesn't serve any purpose just to add really nice smell. Actually it's just an exotic part of what a recipe.

    Steps

    1. 1
I'm using brown sugar that I got from the coffee shop. I will need approximately 1 tablespoon of it.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    2. 2
Let's see how much is here. Wow, that is amazing, I did not realize that one pack of sugar had that much sugar inside of it. One and a half packages makes 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    3. 3
OK, approximately this, so this is good. Next we need a tiny bit of honey, like the end of the spoon. Like this much honey.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    4. 4
And some olive oil. I'm using extra virgin olive oil and approximately this much, half of a tablespoon of olive oil.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    5. 5
I'm done and a slight tiny bit of vanilla extract, this much.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    6. 6
OK let's mix it all up. You can see the brown sugar is kind of stuck together, so I need to mash it and make sure the honey and oil get all over it.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    7. 7
If it seems too thick for you, you are welcome to add just a tiny bit more olive oil. Which mine looks like it's quite thick, just a couple drops of it.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    8. 8
OK I think this is perfect. So it is done. Brown sugar does a great job of peeling off the dead skin on your lips and it's a very inexpensive way to do a lip scrub, especially when you could be getting the brown sugar at the coffee shop and you don't have to buy it.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    9. 9
Okay so let's apply this to our lips. Let's see how this brown sugar scrub works on our lips. Actually it feels very soft.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    10. 10
So let's start. It is soft and it has a great smell because of the extra vanilla extract I put in there.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    11. 11
It's very sweet and pleasant, you could actually eat it. I suspect you could go with this recipe for a facial scrub.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    12. 12
When you rub the skin while apply the scrub, don't forget the skin around your lips because this is where you might have blackheads. When you apply lipstick any abnormalities like blackheads around the mouth become more visible.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    13. 13
So it's not just the lips that were scrubbing but also the skin around the border of your lips.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    14. 14
Okay, so I'm finished applying this very tasty an amazing scrub on my lips. I'm going to rinse it off.
Was this step helpful? Yes | No| I need help
    15. 15
So, I just rinsed my scrub off and of course always after using lip scrubs you have to apply lip balm, in my case I'm using a 100% organic lip balm. Okay, this is honeydew flavored lip balm, it keeps your lips moisturized for a long time, my lips feel really nice right now.
