Make a Hair Band Out of Your Hair
Edited by Kara, Inukshuk, Eng, Jen M
Hi, my name is Kara and you are watching the beauty department of VisiHow and in this video I will show you how to do a hair band off your own hair. What I will need to do is first I am going to pin parts of my hair that is refusing to listen, on the side like this. If you don't have this problem, then you don't have to do this.
Let's take a part that comes right behind your ears, maybe a little from on top of your ears. I will need to do a little thin braid.
So as you see this is something I don't need, I'm going to pin this up as well. We will remove it after we are done.
So this is the actual part of my hair that we are going to be using. I need to make a braid. So I am separating it into 3 pieces and making a classical braid, where the side strips go on top of each other and go into the center.
I will need a little tiny invisible rubber band to fix the end so that it doesn't come off. For the rubber band, you should be choosing a color that is matching your hair. In my case, I can be using black or dark brown, but black is probably better for me. This is a thin braid so it's taking a while to make it. When you're making a bigger one its 3 seconds and it's done. The longer your hair is, the better it is for you. My problem with this kind of hair style is that my hair is longer in the back and shorter in the front, so many times it would be coming off and sticking out in parts that I don't want it to. Almost there.
To fix this result, I need my proper hair band. I have them in this package and there are thousands of them because they always get lost. So Just put it on the end of your little braid.
So I need to do the same kind of braid on the other side just like here. I am putting this part of my hair up and fixing it with a hair pin.
Now I am picking up a little part here, separating it into 3 pieces. Just like I did before.
And making a classical braid. Which is really easy to do.
I am more than half way throw. If you would like to have it thicker hair band then you might want to take a bigger amount of hair in your braids. This hair style looks good on lighter color hair because you can see all the textures of the braids, and you would really appreciate the work that went into it. On black hair, it is not that visible, but still nice to have something good looking on your hair, rather than a bun or just a regular ponytail. So I am done here and I need another band to fix the end result.
So my next step is you have 2 braids.
The next thing I am going to do is pull it across my head, like that,
And I need a little tiny hairpin to attach it to my hair. Try to hide your hair on the inside of the braid so you can not see it on the top. I stuffed it right in there inside my hair.
And I am doing the same thing with this one.
Let me take these out because I don't need them anymore.
And I am pulling this side over my head just like I did with the previous one.
But it ends as you can see, it ends right here, the braid is too short.
I need to put it under the other braid. Just like I did before. Attach it using a little tiny hairpin of a matching to your hair color.
Here is a piece that is sticking out. I am going to pin it down as well so that I don't have any accidents.
Make sure you hide your pins in your hair. I need to add another one too.
So I can let this part go, The one that I had pinned previously. Pull it out.
Brush this up just a tiny bit.
So we have a nice hair band here. Just have to adjust this a tiny bit.
So I have a nice hair band here made from my own hair
