Make Your Laptop a Wifi Hotspot
Edited by Eman, Charmed, Jmgf, Eng and 4 others
One great alternative for installing a new wireless device for your home network connection is by making use of the Ad hoc set up in Windows. The Ad hoc setup is a peer-to-peer network connection that basically provides the needed wireless connectivity for two or more computers within a 30 feet radius from each other. Peer-to-Peer simply refers to a network that consists of multiple devices such as laptops or desktops that have no servers such as the ones in a client-server network.
It may come in as a handy tool to share and exchange files between computers even without the need for a USB device plus the Laptop or PC can also be used as a WiFi Hotspot for third party users of the internet. Simply put, one can share its internet connection with another Laptop or device.
This can be useful for those people that don't have a wireless router at home or some other places. You can easily make your Windows 7 Laptop to a hotspot WiFi by setting up an Ad hoc network. An Ad hoc network is made for temporary connection between some computers and devices for the purpose of file sharing files and internet connections. If you have wireless network adapter in your Laptop then you can make it a hotspot WiFi by easily setting up an Ad hoc network.
