Thanksgiving is just few days away and most of us are definitely excited to share a special meal with friends and family again.
Thanksgiving meals often include pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, and who could forget the turkey! While you probably already have a turkey side dish specialty that everyone loves, it will not be bad at all to add new recipes to your yearly traditional family Thanksgiving meal.

Steps to Make Very Quick Caramelized Pearl Onions
For this recipe, you only need 15 minutes to prepare; yes it's that quick! Prepare it beforehand and just reheat it after. You will need:
- 1A 16-ounce package of frozen pearl onions - be sure to thaw it
- 21/2 teaspoon dried rosemary (1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary can be an alternative)
- 31/3 cups red bell pepper, coarsely chopped
- 41/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 51/2 teaspoon salt
- 61 tablespoon sugar
- 71 tablespoon margarine or butter
Here's how to prepare it
- 1In a non-stick pan, melt the margarine over medium-high heat, then add in onions and sugar.
- 2Sauté for eight minutes or until it turns golden brown.
- 3Stir and sautée the rosemary, bell pepper, pepper and salt.
- 4Now it will be ready to serve.
Sesame Green Bean Saute
Ingredients:
- 11 teaspoon toasted sesame seed oil
- 21 pound fresh green beans (trimmed but uncut)
- 31 clove minced garlic
- 41 teaspoon ginger root finely minced
- 51 tablespoon canola or peanut oil
- 6½ teaspoon salt to taste
Here's how to prepare it
- 1In a hot skillet, add oil and stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
- 2Add the green beans and stir-fry again for three to four minutes over high heat.
- 3Ready to serve.Toss the beans with salt and sesame oil until it is completely coated.
Steps to Bake Provencal Gratin
You will need:
- 14 large cloves of smashed garlic
- 21 medium sliced yellow onion
- 31/4 cup dry white vermouth
- 41 cup of water
- 53 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
- 63/4 cup diced seeded and peeled red pepper
- 72 pounds Yukon gold, peeled
- 81/3 cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
- 91 pound plum tomatoes
- 10½ fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 11Salt and ground pepper to taste
Here's how to prepare it
- 1Apply a little olive oil inside the dish as well.Rub the casserole dish with one of the garlic cloves, then mince the rest.
- 2With the remaining oil, sautée the garlic, pepper and onion on medium heat.
- 3Add salt and pepper to taste and wait until it gets tender (about eight minutes).
- 4Add the vermouth, then leave it to simmer.
- 5Add in the sliced potatoes, water and a little more salt and pepper as desired.
- 6Bring it to a boil and keep stirring until the mixture slightly thickens.
- 7Add the basil.
- 8When the mixture is ready, transfer it to the baking dish evenly distributing the potatoes into the pan.
- 9Add salt and pepper and a drizzle of olive oil on top.Arrange the sliced potatoes on top of the potatoes.
- 10Sprinkle grated cheese on top.Uncovered, bake the potatoes for about one and a half hours.
- 11Let it cool for 15 minutes and serve.
