Make Homemade Salad Dressing

Salad dressings are a great accompaniment for fresh vegetables, aside from vinaigrette. Sometimes these salad dressings can also be used as a spread for sandwiches, burgers, or even as dips for vegetables sticks, fries and much more. Read on to find out how to make these delicious dressings. In this article, you can also find salad recipes that are good to pair with each type.

Salad Dressing #1
Ingredients
- 11/2 cup mayonnaise
- 22 tablespoons ketchup
- 31 tablespoon white sugar
- 41/4 teaspoon iodized salt
Procedures
- 1Put all the ingredients in a small bowl, and mix until well combined.
Wedge Salad
Ingredients
- 11 small head of iceberg lettuce (or any kind that is available)
- 21/4 pound bacon (thick cut)
- 32 small tomatoes
- 4chopped chives (optional to garnish)
Procedures
- 1Remove the outside layers of the lettuce.
- 2Set aside.Cut the lettuce into four wedges.
- 3Cut the bacon into strips.
- 4Fry the bacon until crispy and let it dry on a paper towel.
- 5Chop the tomatoes into bite size pieces.
- 6Arrange the lettuce on a plate.
- 7Drizzle with the salad dressing number 1.
- 8Garnish with crispy bacon, tomatoes and chopped chives (optional)
This recipe can also be use as a spread or dip.
Thousand Island Dressing
Procedure
Put all the ingredients in a small bowl, and mix until well combined.
Iceberg Salad
Ingredients
- 11 small iceberg lettuce (or any variety of lettuce that is available)
- 25 pieces french beans (Baguio beans - Philippines)
- 32 small tomatoes or 1 big tomato
- 41 small cucumber
- 51 or 2 pieces of ham slices
- 6spring onion (optional for garnish)
Procedures
- 1Clean and cut the edges of the french beans before cutting them into sticks about 2 centimeters long.
- 2Place in cold water and set aside.Blanch it until soft but crunchy.
- 3Slice the lettuce into bite size pieces.
- 4Cut the small tomatoes into four wedges; if using big tomato, slice into into bite size pieces.
- 5It's up to you whether you want to peel it or remove the seeds.Cut the cucumber into sticks about 2 centimeters long.
- 6Then chop into small square pieces.Fry the ham according to your liking.
- 7Chill before serving along with the dressing.Arrange all the ingredients in a bowl.
Coleslaw Dressing
Ingredients
- 11/2 cup mayonnaise
- 21 tablespoon evaporated milk
- 31 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar
- 41 tablespoon white sugar
- 51/2 teaspoon iodized salt
- 61/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Procedure
- 1Put all the ingredients in a small bowl, and mix until well combined.
Coleslaw
Ingredients
- 11 small cabbage (any type of your choice)
- 21 small carrots
- 31 small red onion
Procedures
- 1Remove the outside layer of the cabbage.
- 2Slice into strips.
- 3Grate or julienne the carrots.
- 4Finely slice or chop the onion.
- 5Mix well and refrigerate before serving.Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and add on the coleslaw dressing.
