Tips and Tricks

Garland Chrysanthemum produce should be free of brown or yellow spots.

  • Although it is a bit more difficult to do this when buying exotic greens you should always attempt to buy organic, whenever possible
  • The leaves should be braised very lightly in water or light oil like coconut if you are cooking them to preserve the antioxidants in the plant
  • Slightly wilted produce may still have its nutrients but avoid buying Garland Chrysanthemum that is yellow or tinged with brown
  • The fragile produce will last longer if you store it in a glass of water, like you would a cut plant, in the refrigerator, with a bit of plastic wrapped over the top of it
  • You can chop up this green and combine it with a bit of water so that you can freeze it in ice cube tray
  • In some people, the plant can cause mild nausea and if this is the case with you then it is important for you to stop taking the green immediately
