  • Strawberries are best eaten when firm, but ripe and when their skin is a bright red color
  • Organic wild strawberries tend to have more flavor than farmed ones
  • Medium sized strawberries tend to have less flavor than the medium or small sized ones
  • Strawberries freeze well and keep for up to one year
  • Adding a bit of lemon juice to strawberries before you freeze them will help prevent freezer burn and also help the berry keep its color
  • Strawberries start losing their Vitamin C, polyphenol, and antioxidant content after just two days, so eat them as soon as you bring them home from the grocery store or supermarket
  • Strawberries are best stored in a dark place with high humidity, so the butter drawer or a vegetable bin with a high humidity is your best option
