    To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

    Once the phone is activated, swipe the lock screen up to open the home screen

    On the home screen, find the Vine tile
    .
    It will either flash various images from previously viewed vines, or it will have a turquoise colored background with the white Vine logo. The logo is a capital "V" with a curl on one end. If Vine has not been pinned to the home screen, swipe left to find it in the Apps menu.

    Once Vine has been found, press down on it to open the application
    .
    Vines will automatically begin playing once the application is open.

    To like a vine, express appreciation for or admiration of it, press on the gray smiley face icon on the left side of the screen just below the name of the person who uploaded or created the vine
    .
    Pressing on the smiley face will invert the colors indicating the icon has been pressed. The face will now be turquoise, and the eyes and smile will be white.

    To unlike the vine, press on the smiley face again, and this will change the icon back to its original state
